People with different disabilities may need to be interviewed in the course of law enforcement investigations.

This two-day training, includes an overview of the populations served under Justice Center jurisdiction, a discussion of abuse dynamics, the steps necessary to prepare for an interview with an individual with disabilities, and the stages of a successful interview. These stages include establishing rapport, cognitive and testimonial assessments, introducing the topic of concern, and consideration of alternative hypotheses. The final day provides participants the opportunity to practice these interview techniques and receive feedback.
