Interacting with Persons with Disabilities - 6 hour

Description

First responders and members of law enforcement are encountering individuals with special needs with more frequency.  Communicating effectively to ensure appropriate outcomes can be especially challenging with vulnerable populations.

This six-hour course will train participants on the common characteristics, traits, and behaviors of individuals with various disabilities and offers best practices for effective interaction and communication. The Justice Center is an approved provider of the NYS Municipal Police Training Council's required Disability Awareness Training.

This training is available live on-site.
