Spotlight on Prevention: Body Checks
Now Available
A new Justice Center Spotlight on Prevention toolkit “Best Practices for Body Checks” is available on the agency's website for download and use.  It provides information and resources to support the safety of people who are unable or require assistance to identify and report illness, injury, abuse, or neglect.  Case studies are included to assist in provider agency training about the importance of body checks. Guidance is also provided on documenting findings and seeking medical assistance when required.

Professional Boundaries Training
Adds Additional Materials
One of the Justice Center's most popular training tools has been updated to include certificates, facilitator, and participant guides.  The interactive, recorded Professional Boundaries training was developed to support the use of professional boundaries in the provision of care at provider agencies.  The Justice Center recognizes that professional boundaries play a key role in preventing abuse and neglect and providing good quality of care.
The training tool is designed to be effective for individual self-study.  However, it is recommend that it be used as part of a facilitated training that allows staff the opportunity to ask questions, discuss agency policies and procedures, and talk through the scenarios.
The Justice Center's website now offers guidebooks to support a facilitated training.  The Facilitator Guide includes all of the content provided in the training with suggestions on when to pause the video to ask questions, discuss agency policies and procedures and to facilitate a discussion on the content.  The Participant Guide includes content and space for taking notes and answering questions.
For those who work through the recorded training on their own, a certificate of completion, which can be printed, is provided at the end.
