Introducing "Could This Happen in Your Program?" - A New Justice Center Podcast
We are excited to announce the NYS Justice Center podcast!
For over a decade, the Justice Center has investigated allegations of abuse, led prevention initiatives, developed first-of-its-kind training and toolkits, and collaborated with agencies, providers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to protect vulnerable individuals. Now, we’re making it even easier for you to access those learnings and best practices in a new way.
We are launching a new podcast.
Each month, the “Could This Happen In Your Program” podcast will connect you to expert-led conversations and insights focused on preventing abuse and neglect. We will utilize real scenarios from the Justice Center and discuss tactics for combating common systemic issues. We will also engage members of the Justice Center team to provide additional insight into how we process these cases and introduce you to their unique backgrounds.

In our inaugural episode, we sit down with Davin Robinson, Deputy Director of Outreach, Prevention, and Support, to discuss how you can create a culture of safety within your organization, including the importance of the Staff Exclusion List, background checks, and training. We also explore the numerous prevention resources developed by the agency, including our newly launched “Could This Happen in Your Program?” toolkit.
Then, Acting Executive Director Maria Lisi-Murray joins us for a conversation about the importance of creating abuse-free environments and shares why the Justice Center is prioritizing abuse prevention.
