Stopping Abuse Before It Happens

The Justice Center's abuse prevention efforts are critical to advancing its mission to support and protect the health, safety, and dignity of all people with special needs and disabilities. In order to prevent abuse and neglect, The Justice Center produces materials to help equip staff with the tools and skills they need to identify situations that pose a risk of harm to people receiving services.

The Justice Center prevents abuse and neglect incidents in a variety of ways. Learn more about the importance of the Staff Exclusion List, background checks, CAP Audits, and support in preventing abuse and neglect before it happens.

Signature for Safety Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct is a framework for certain employees to help people with special needs “live self-directed, meaningful lives in their communities, free from abuse and neglect, and protected from harm”. Certain employees must read and sign the code upon employment, and annually.
