Records Access

Overview

Certain records generated by the Justice Center are available to the public by filing a FOIL request.  Other records, like those tied to a specific investigation, are available to certain individuals as defined by law.

Requesting Justice Center Records
FOIL Requests

The Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”), Article 6 (Section 84-90) of the NYS Public Officers Law, provides the public with access to records maintained by government agencies with certain exceptions.

Investigative and Other Records Requests

Certain Justice Center records, such as Investigative Reports, can be requested under Social Services Law.  However, only certain individuals or entities are entitled to request and receive such records with appropriate redactions.
