In accordance with section 4(c)(2) of the AT Act of 1998, as amended in 2004, New York State has a consumer-majority advisory board that provides consumer-responsive, consumer-driven advice to the state for planning, implementation, and evaluation of the activities carried out through the grant, including setting measurable goals.

The advisory board's membership is representative of the state’s different regions and reflects the state’s diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, types of disabilities across the age span, and the different types of services that an individual with a disability may receive. Meetings take place 2-3 times per year. The Regional TRAID Centers have two meetings per year to discuss issues related to operating an assistive technology center that may include data collection, outreach, device loan policies and federal and state budget issues. Meeting agendas, minutes and other meeting information can be accessed at this link.
